Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day (little late)

We had two parties for the kids, one for each day of class. They really enjoyed games and eating and playing. The best was the game "Honey, I love you, would you smile?" Where one person asks the question to someone else, and then they have to respond saying, " I love you too, but I won't smile", without smiling. It was pretty great.

That night, we had a spaghetti dinner with Amber and Lupe, Jill and Danny, and Rodolfo and his guitar. Complete with an impromptu mariachi band. John, Danny and Rodolfo donned their mariachi hats and serenaded the women. It was pretty great!

two for one

It has felt recently like we are living two full days for each one that actually passes. It is a very weird phenomenon to go to bed, think back on the day, and as I think about the morning, John and I both find ourselves saying ¨That had to be yesterday, that could not possibly have been today.¨ But no, we are just having days that are very very full of life, people, needs, good Mexican food, and dust. Wednesdays are a marvel, because we try to leave Wednesdays open for rest, recreation, being away from Croc and maintaining sanity. (I am reading a book about the idea of Sabbath in the Bible, and little by little trying to shape these days to be more like a restful Sabbath.) Time seems to be more normal on Wednesdays, with only one day passing at just about the normal speed.
